Position Description: RN

The Registered Nurse specializes in radiation therapy (the treatment of cancer patients), is a patient advocator and educator for complex treatments. The Radiation Oncology nurse is responsible for maintaining the outpatient clinic flow and protocols to include patient assessments, monitoring radiation therapy patients throughout their treatment, and educating patients on their treatment and side effects to enhance the patient’s ability to make an informed decision over their health.

• The registered nurse

independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards

Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse license

• BLS

• 1 year RN acute care experience

• Associates Degree in Nursing

Preferred:

• 1 year oncology experience preferred
